How to Calculate Your Birth Day Number

The calendar day alone. Keep 11 and 22, and keep the 29th as 11 rather than 2.

TL;DR

Birth Day uses the day of the month only. The 29th is 11, and that 11 is not what the 29th contributes to a Life Path. Then the free Birth Day calculator. The Foundation Soul Blueprint is $11.11.

Your Birth Day number is the day of the month you were born, read on its own.

You do not add the month. You do not add the year. If the day is 11 or 22, it stays. If the day reduces to 11, that 11 stays too. The method keeps four master numbers, 11, 22, 33, and 44. A calendar day can hold 11 or 22. It cannot hold 33 or 44, because no month has a 33rd or 44th day, and no day of the month reduces to 33 or 44.

Number has a long history that this figure does not pretend to settle. The Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy says Philolaus, a fifth-century Pythagorean, emphasized the role of number in understanding the cosmos (Pythagoreanism).

The same encyclopedia says a later tradition treated Pythagoras, with no historical justification, as the source of Greek philosophy as a whole (Pythagoreanism). The encyclopedia's entry on Pythagoras says he wrote nothing (Pythagoras). The Birth Day on this page is narrower than that history. It is the calendar day alone, in The Healer's Code method, as a lens rather than a prediction.

The day alone

If you were born on the 7th, the number is 7. A single digit, 1 through 9, is already finished. Write it down and stop.

A two-digit day is reduced by adding its digits, unless the day is 11 or 22, which are kept whole, or the sum is a master number, which is also kept. These are checked results, not a second system:

10 becomes 1, written 10/1. 13 becomes 4, written 13/4. 19 becomes 1, written 19/1, after a middle step of 10. 25 becomes 7, written 25/7. 31 becomes 4, written 31/4.

When 13, 14, 16, or 19 appears in the steps, the method records that figure as karmic debt and then keeps reducing. The record is not a reason to stop. 13 on the 13th is recorded, and the Birth Day is still 4. 19 on the 19th is recorded, and the Birth Day is still 1. None of those four is a master number.

The day names one talent you arrived with. It does not assign a job, a diagnosis, or a week of instructions. If a meaning you have heard does not fit the life you live, set the meaning down and keep the day.

Days that stay whole

The 11th stays 11, written 11/2. The 22nd stays 22, written 22/4. The digit after the slash is the root the master rests in. You do not replace 11 with 2, and you do not replace 22 with 4. The Birth Day is the master.

11/2 is The Spiritual Messenger in this method. 22/4 is The Master Builder. Those names are lenses for a gift the day can hold. They are not a rank, and they are not a promise that the day will feel easy.

There is no Birth Day 33 and no Birth Day 44. 33 and 44 are real master numbers in the rest of the chart. A name can sum to them. A day of the month cannot. If a calculator prints 33 or 44 for a Birth Day, it is not using this rule.

The 29th

The 29th is the day people reduce too far. 2 + 9 = 11, and 11 is a master number, so you stop. The Birth Day is 11, written 29/11. You may also see the master written as 11/2, which names the root under it. You do not call the 29th a 2.

That rule belongs to the Birth Day only. In a Life Path, the 29th does not contribute 11. It contributes the digits 2 and 9, as two separate tokens, and the rest of the date is summed with them. November 29, 1990 shows the split cleanly. The Birth Day is 29/11. The Life Path tokens are 11 for November (the month is kept whole, not split into 1 + 1), then 2 and 9 for the day, then 1, 9, 9, and 0 for the year. That is 11 + 2 + 9 + 1 + 9 + 9 + 0 = 41, which reduces to 5, written 41/5. Same date, two numbers, two rules. Folding the Birth Day 11 into the Life Path would invent a different path.

No calendar day reduces to 22, 33, or 44. The 29th is the only day that reduces into a master, and the master it reaches is 11.

Not the Life Path

Life Path is a flat sum of the whole date: the month tokens, the day tokens, and the year digits, added as one stream, then reduced, with 11, 22, 33, and 44 kept whenever they appear. It is not the Birth Day, and it is not three reduced pieces added together.

A short warm mark standing apart from a longer stream of light

August 25, 1980 is the clear contrast. The Birth Day is the 25th: 2 + 5 = 7, written 25/7. The Life Path of that same date is 8 + 2 + 5 + 1 + 9 + 8 + 0 = 33, kept as 33/6. The day is 7. The path is 33. Reducing the month, the day, and the year separately, then adding those three results, is a different calculation, and it drops masters the flat sum keeps. January 6, 1950 is one of those dates. The flat sum is 22, written 22/4. The separate-reduction route lands on 4 and loses the master. The Birth Day of that date is simply 6. Three different questions, three different answers.

The free Birth Day calculator uses the day rule on this page. The Life Path guide is the flat sum, if you want that number next: How to calculate your Life Path number.

Birth Day sits beside Life Path, Expression, Soul Urge, Personality, and Personal Year. Alone it is one gift. Next to the others it shows how that gift meets the rest of the chart. A Life Path 7 and a Birth Day 3 will not sound the same, and both can be true.

When you want the day checked for you, use the free Birth Day calculator. When you want the six core numbers read together, by hand, the next step is the Foundation Soul Blueprint. The Foundation Soul Blueprint is $11.11.

Frequently asked

Do I include the month or the year?

No. Birth Day is the day of the month only. Month and year belong to the Life Path, which is a different sum.

What happens on the 11th, the 22nd, and the 29th?

The 11th stays 11, written 11/2. The 22nd stays 22, written 22/4. The 29th is 2 + 9 = 11, written 29/11. Do not replace any of those with the root digit.

Can a Birth Day be 33 or 44?

No. The method keeps 11, 22, 33, and 44, and a name can sum to 33 or 44. No day of the month is 33 or 44, and no day reduces to them.

Is Birth Day the same as Life Path?

No. Life Path is a flat sum of the whole date. On a 29th, the Birth Day is 11, and the Life Path still takes that day as the digits 2 and 9. The free Birth Day calculator uses the day rule. The Foundation Soul Blueprint, at $11.11, reads the six core numbers together.

Free, from the day you were born. The Foundation report reads all six together.
