Where it comes from
The word is plain. Numerology joins the Latin numerus, number, to the Greek -logia, the study of a thing. It names an activity rather than a claim: the study of number as meaning.
The practice is older than the word. Every major civilization built a number-based system independently, and the line this method descends from runs through Pythagoras, who taught at Croton in the sixth century BCE that all is number, and whose letter-to-number wheel is the direct ancestor of the table used here. What The Healer's Code adds is the integration: seven traditions read together rather than one read alone.
